The World’s Largest Center Console Boat: HydraSports 65 Estrella

A boat for those who wish to go big or go home

Hydra Sports has announced that it will be increasing their dominion on the top center console market by increasing the footage of their already leading brand. Currently, the 53 foot Suenos center console boat leads as the World’s Largest Center Console boat. The 53 Suenos was introduced in February of 2015 at the Florida Boat show. And while this boat has shown popularity amongst boat enthusiasts, the company wished to push the envelope even further. Coming in 2018 will be the newest, world’s largest center console boat for sale, the 65 Estrella.

Power

As you would expect with a boat of this size, there is a substantial amount of power which will be required to push it along the deep waters. Equipping the boat will be five Mercury engines. The exact model has not been released, yet, but if the boat is to use the latest and greatest available then it may be predicted that these will be the 350 Verado engines capable of reaching 350HP.

Beam

Per the picture shared by Hydrasports on Instagram, the beam of the coming Estrella will be 18’. Comparatively, this feature is nothing new and exciting as the 1997 Monte Fino has an 18’ beam as do many V-Hull Bass boats and center console boats. That being stated, the beam is larger than some of the smaller boats on the market and even some of the larger top center console boats which average around 15 to 17 feet. Keep in mind that the boat is 65 feet in length and so the 18’ beam may seem to be rather narrow once aboard the deck, as the ratio is nearly 4:1 for the length to width proportions.

Fuel Capacity

Fuel Capacity on the 65 Estrella is 1800 gallons. This ensures that you can go and do about anything that you wish to do. Keep in mind that there will be 5 motors running and so the consumption of that fuel may be rather high. Knowing the burn rate of the fuel will be extremely helpful. Additionally, the weight of the vessel will play to the fuel consumption. So, while the 1800 gallon capacity may be impressive at first glance, without the proper information to calculate the time on the water, it is just a large number.

Deck Storage

On the current design/mockup of the 65 Estrella you will see that there is a focus on storage, especially on the stern of the craft. Like other HydraSports, the rear of the boat has 2 large live wells as well as side storage space. The port and the starboard have 3 such spaces on each side. Additional storage space at the bow of the Estrella seems to be limited to one unit apart from that which is found on the leisure lounge. Though no specifications have been given on the storage units found around the hull, if Hydrasport keeps with their current configuration, one can expect to have ample bait and tackle storage around the console.

Due to the design of the console, under deck storage on the walkaround port and starboard may be limited. While the bow and the stern have ample seating and storage (such as the fold down transom seating), the sides of the boat seem to be a bit narrow. Specifics will be revealed once we have that information.

Console Design

A brief look at the center console reveals that the 65 Estrella will have multiple cabin seating. Unlike some of their other models, the Estrella will not have the bar seating configuration but will have individualized captains chairs. There is a bar seat located behind the row of 5 in the console, and the hardtop does appear to extend to cover this area.

Controls on the console are tri-based with the main display and the helm being in the center. This may be the standard and the right and left panel space may be reserved for additional navigational features such as fish finder and for stereo controls.
