Latitude – refers to the coordinates from north or south of the equator
Longitude – refers to the coordinates from east or west of the Greenwich, England meridian
Knots – the speed of the boat in nautical miles per hour
Nautical Mile – The distance of 6,076 feet
● Bow – refers to the front section of the boat
Hull – the body of the boat (bottom body)
Aft – refers to the rear section of the boat
Console – the main portion of the boat, where controls are located
Log – used to refer to a record regarding the operation of the boat
Stern – similar to Aft, refers to the rear section of the boat
Helm – the steering system of the boat
Chart – the navigation map of a boat
