Formula Boats History

Formula boats is a company with over 60 years in history in boat making. A family owned boat manufacturer, the Formula history starts as early as 1956, when Thunderbird was founded by Woody Woodson. In 1961, Thunderbird was purchased by the Alliance Machine and foundry. Later in 1962, the company Formula has been founded by Don Aronow in Florida, presenting the world with the original Deep-V hull boat and just two years later the company was bought by Alliance Machine Foundry. In later years, the Formula and Thunderbird brand were bought by Fuqua Industries and as early as 1975 the company started producing high performance boating solutions. In 1976 alongside the Signa brand, Thunderbird and Formula were purchased by Victor Porter, becoming a family owned company. Throughout the years Formula, alongside with Thunderbird and Signa boats company, produced multiple notable high performance boating solutions, such as the Formula 206LS in 1984 and the Formula 280 Sun Sport in 1994. Today, the company is focused on delivering exquisite solutions to pleasure boating enthusiasts.
