Best Center Console Boats Over 30 Feet

The mid-sized center consoles

Mid-sized Center Consoles are those which are between the 30 and the 40 foot LOA. After 40’, the boats are usually classified as being in the yacht category. Because the boats are in this LOA, they are generally not considered yachts. However, many of the boats upgrade materials to present a very “yachting” aesthetic. If you wish to have the functionality of the Center Console with the luxury and speed of the larger vessels, then this may be the size best suited to your needs. If you are looking for a center console between 30 and 40 feet, here are a few of the best models to consider.

SeaHunter 35

SeaHunter 35 is based on the classic design. This means that you get the Deep V hull and the oversized chines. This also means that the design is oriented to the angler and that the boat is “tournament ready”. Primarily, SeaHunter’s 35 Center Console is a mixture between navigation and optimized space. The storage, the triple outboard, Yamaha engines, two 50-gallon live wells, as well as the electronics and technology in the console, make this a contender for any serious fisherman.

Because this is an angler’s center console and not driven by the family cruising and luxury aesthetics, there are a bit more hard surfaces than you would find in the cruiser. The pro side to this is that almost all of the deck space serves as storage, that there is an overabundance of rod holders, and because space is optimized for fishing, you never have to worry about sidestepping and entanglements with the layout as you wrestle in your next big catch.

SeaVee 37 Z

When it comes to the SeaVee center console boats, you typically have two choices. You can go with the deep V hull of the classic design, or you can go with the award-winning Z design. The Z design has an advanced stepped hull for light and fuel-efficient travel. The SeaVee 37Z enables the avid fisherman/woman to use the outboard boat in various waters. Unique to the 37 Z is a layout that allows for 20% more deck space and storage capacity.

The SeaVee 37Z is offered in a standard as well as a luxury edition. This allows the boater to have the features which are important to him/her. Regardless of which you choose, the standard features, as well as features such as the tower, fold-out seating, rod storage, bait wells, and abundance of fish boxes and storage make this center console worth considering.

Cobia 34

Cobia’s 34CC has a double stepped hull, fishing packaging, an open layout that gives natural lighting and luxury to the vessel, as well as high-quality materials and fixtures to give it a luxurious feel. The layout mimics that of the Sport Cruiser with plush seats for up to 13 passengers. This includes a forward-facing seat off of the center console.

The Cobia, though advertised as a tournament vessel, has the plush seating of a cruiser. Additionally, the presence of the bow seating, the transom seating, and the hardtop design all add to the sophistication of the vessel. The 34CC’s main feature (apart from the console) would be the bait station, which backs up to the back of the bar style captains chair.

Intrepid 377

Intrepid is known for power and performance, as even the name suggests. As such, the center consoles offered by intrepid are geared to high power, navigation,  and diversity of use. Intrepid 377 CC is specifically designed to have a versatility of use with the ability to fish, dive, or cruise. Materials on the boat are plush, the decking has ample storage and for either gear or to double as a fish storage area, the cabin space of the vessel allows for offshore adventures, and the aesthetics of the hull and center console give lean away from the traditional fishing boat and more to the yachting design.

The Intrepid 377 has a standard 300 gallon, a beam of 10’6 as well as twin outboard engines. Due to the diversity of this CC, the Intrepid 377 is very apt to be customized to one of the three purposes (fishing, sport, or cruising) through optional packaging.

Invincible 33

With a name like Invincible, the boat should be built to the highest standards and be able to handle any water. This was the premise behind the Invincible 33. The Smallest of the Center Console fleet offered by the brand, the Invincible 33 is a fish-focused twin powered vessel worthy of the serious angler. Features of the CC include a deep anchor locker, a stainless steel pull-up cleat, 2 very large live wells, and a captains chair that can accommodate 3.

The Invincible 33 Center console has a higher fuel gallon with a 320 and a higher max HP at 900 than some of the other Center consoles offered. Standard power on the Invincible 33 are twin 300 Mercury Verados, so to get the 900 max engine configurations would be necessary.

Jupiter 34

Reviewed as one of the most performance-driven Center consoles on the current market, the Jupiter 34 makes a strong imprint on the boating industry. Top speeds on the Jupiter 34 CC is around 64.4 mph, depending upon the engine configuration. The Jupiter has the option of 300hp Yamahas. Cruising in the Jupiter 34 is around 7.5mph.

The Jupiter 34 comes in two versions. The first is the tournament model, which is oriented to the angler features such as rocket rod holders and live wells. The second option is the forward seating version which is more catered to the cruising aspect of the Center Console.
