Vacuume Assisted Lamination Technology
SeaHunter has specific technology for the way in which they fabricate their boats. The company has called this technology VALT, an abbreviation for the heading of this section. VALT uses Dupont and KEVLAR materials along with Vinlyester and Corecell to create a laminated interior for the bonding and the sealing of the hull to the cap. SeaHunter then uses a marine foam injection method to give a secondary bond as well as to ensure that the boat is unsinkable. Overall, you get a light boat, built with innovative technology, that is cheaper on materials but stronger structurally than other boats on the market. Still not enough to convince you? Did you know that SeaHunter cut a boat in half, dropped it from a crane, then dropped it in the water AND it still ran!
Mercury or Yamaha, you choose
Different from some of the other boat manufacturers, SeaHunter has various engine configurations from various brands, the top two being Mercury and Yamaha. As the boats range in sizes, you will find that the normal medium is the 250. 300s are placed on the larger boats as well as the 350s. Those seeking a pre-owned SeaHunter boat for sale should inquire about the engine as often one will find that older models have newer engines which may still be under the manufacturer’s warranty.
Models
There are several models available for the SeaHunter Brand. These models are:
You may find other older models that vary in size. However, the above list is the most recent from SeaHunter. Do note that even if you have an older model that it still should be under the structural warranty of SeaHunter and will still have certain features. For example the consoles and leaning posts have integrated kicks, the freeboard allows for easy access to the gaff, and the decks are designed for non-skidding. As the boats are for fishing, expect to find various packages and standard features oriented to anglers, such as live wells, storage under the decking, and bait preparation stations.
Since most of the boats are under 30’ you may find that a boat trailer is included in the packaging. Inquire about such details when browsing the selection of vessels available.
Structural Warranty of SeaHunter
SeaHunter has a lifetime structural warranty on their boats. The maintenance, when conducted under the warranty or brought to any SeaHunter maintenance facility is performed by factory-trained mechanics. This includes repairs for the Mercury and/or the Yamaha engine. Should you ever have a problem in the water, SeaHunter offers dockside and haul out (bow to stern) services. If purchasing a pre-owned boat, ensure that you know which warranties are transferable through the buyer and which warranties need to be transferred through the manufacturer (such as engine warranties).
Where is the best place to use a SeaHunter?
SeaHunters are made for both the freshwater fisherman and the saltwater fisherman. Depending upon the size of the vessel you choose, the boat can be used both inshore and offshore. The smaller boats, such as the 24’ Bay are ideal for rivers, streams, and small lakes. Due to the power and size the 39’ Tournament boat is best suited for those adventures in the Atlantic or deeper waters.
