Mako Boats are manufactured for the saltwater fisherman. This means that their boats are idealistic for the Atlantic coast or for the Gulf of Mexico. Models

From 2016 to the present, Mako Boats has offered a new selection of models for their inshore and offshore selection.

2016 offshore boats include the 184CC, 204CC, 214CC 234CC, and 284 CC. The 2017 offshore models offered are identical with the addition of the 334CC, 334 CC Bluewater Family Edition, and the 334 CC Sportfish Edition. 2018 models are available with new 414 CC and 414CC Bluewater family edition.

Inshore models are offered in 2016 and 2017 models and include (2016) the 18 LTS, 19 CPX, 21 LTS, Pro 16 Skiff CC, Pro 17 Skiff CC, (2017), Pro Skiff 19 CC, and the Pro Skiff 21 CC.

Manufacturing

Mako claims that their boats are built with the same principles used by aerospace, automotive, and medical companies. This process is known as Sigma Manufacturing. While it is noble that the company has sought to reduce waste, and that as the company saves funding in waste management they are able to present higher quality materials in the construction of the boat building process, it should be understood that the Sigma Manufacturing process is more about the excess and management of materials and not about the actual production.

Mako does manufacture a great deal of the parts for their boats including the live wells, consoles, seats, fuel tanks and trailers.  Those which are seeking a product not manufactured offshore and assembled domestically, will find that the Mako boats for sale are primarily designed within the company. The company does not use wood in the manufacturing of their boats.

Mako’s boats are built with 100% composite materials and marine grade components. In terms of the powering of the vessels, Mako tends to use Mercury engines, a standard amongst some of the top boat building brands. Mako is a part of the White River Marine Group LLC. Affiliates include Tracker Boats, Nitro, Sun Tracker, Tahoe, Regency, and Ascend alongside the Mako Brand.

Functionality

While the boating company produces vessels which are suited for both offshore and inshore functionally, there are far more offshore models available for purchase lending to the conclusion that the company is primarily based upon deep saltwater fishing. Additionally, the models which are offered should not be considered luxury or upscale. They are oriented to the family and middle class income bracket. As such, there is a certain level of features and functions not available which would otherwise be standard on the more expensive brands on the market. That being stated, Mako tends to offer incentives to boat buyers including a limited lifetime structural hull warranty, a 5-year stern to stern coverage, a 3 year gelcoat coverage, as well as provisions for transferring these warranties to a second owner.
