Not your typical design

Airboats are designed with a flat bottom hull. For Floridians, this is good news as many freshwater locations have restrictions on where Deep Vee boats can navigate. Per the conservation acts, some outboard and inboard motors are restricted. Yet, since the airboat does not have the standard design, and because it has that flat bottom, you might get access where it would otherwise be denied.

In addition to the change in the hull design, being flat over the traditional Vee, the material is different than that of the “traditional” vessel. Where you may find some airboats with the fiberglass hull, most of the options available will have either framework or metal decking.

While other boats have the deep and the motor which tends to limit the places that the boat can navigate to, the airboat can go into almost any land or water area. Speed

At first glance, you might think that the airboat is a bit under powered as it is driven by a fan.
