One way in which a boat buyer can gauge the quality of a boat manufacturer is to see how many generations the company has invested in the craft. For the Dougherty family, they have 50 years of experience and multiple generations invested in their brand, as well as hold the 1999 Marine Manufacturers Innovation Award. Founder, Bob Doughetry (age 89) continues to work with his family. Although the Everglades company was only birthed in 2001, there is nothing novice about the master craftsman who is behind the helm.
Boats built by boat enthusiasts
Everglades boats are built by those who have been out on the ocean. They know the conditions and the perils which one may face when in open water and have crafted their boats to combat these potential circumstances. Several features of the Everglades boats for sale are unique and patented to the company. The top patented feature would be the unsinkable RAMCAP construction. RAMCAP (Rapid Molded Core Assembly Process) unsinkable boats are designed by bonding the hull, deck, and structural core together using extreme pressure. According to Everglades FAQ, this process makes it safe to bring 350LX, 350cc, 320CC, and the 290 Pilot offshore. Please note, the company does state that the unsinkable bay boats are designed for inland waters, though “they can handle the rough seas”.
Safety is a top concern, luxury is the understated signature
This line, taken directly from the Everglades features page, is a testimonial to the focus of the company. There are several different features which are primarily safety and longevity based in the design. Such features in the Everglades boats for sale include bedded or gasket hardware, powder coated thick grab rails, variable dead rise deep v-hull, pre-molded high-density closed cell structural foam floatation, Bronze high-speed intake strainers, and ABS backing used for self-tapping screws and bolts.
When looking at the various models offered by the manufacturer, you will note that there is no wood used in the construction of any of the models. And although this may be offsetting to some boat enthusiasts, the premise for such is to increase the lifespan of the vessel and promote safety.
