HCB 53’ Suenos new Summer Kitchen
Maximizing leisure and family time on the new HCB CC Yachts
Those familiar with the HydraSports brand, now the HCB or HCB Yacht brand, will know that traditionally the boats offered by the company are oriented to the fisherman/woman. Consequently, the stern of the boat has focused primarily on the bait station, live well, fish storage, and tackle boxes. And while the new HCB 53’ Suenos does not neglect to integrate the iconic features for which the brand is known, the new fleet of center console yachts does focus more on a merger of the family leisure and socialization than its predecessors. One such way in which the company has done this is with the new summer kitchen.
Why add a kitchen?
The HCB Yachts are taking the company in a new direction. While the brand has always focused on socialization as well as the fishing experience, the new fleet of yachts is focusing more on the boating experience then primarily focusing on the fishing excursions. As such, features on the boat are catered to providing the maximum enjoyment while offshore. And as many prefer to dine and wine their passengers, the integration of a summer kitchen was a practical, if not strategic feature to the design.
A bait station that isn’t a bait station
Like many items on the new HCB 53’ Suenos, the summer kitchen serves a dual purpose. On the one hand, you have the countertop space which can double as a bait station, to a degree. You do have 4 rod holders and two sinks. Additionally, there is the large flat counter top which can be used for prep. However, due to the materials, as well as to the overall intention of the vessel, this is not the primary purpose. The main purpose of the station is to serve as a summer kitchen. Features of the kitchen include a grill, refrigerator, and plenty of pull out storage.
For boaters accustomed to the tackle boxes and the extra storage space for gear, do not fret. The Summer Kitchen allows for tackle box storage, accessible on the port and starboard side of the station. While the full area is not oriented to the fishing experience, it is not void of the features that you have grown to love.
A different aesthetic
Apart from the features of the summer kitchen area, you will see that there is a distinctive aesthetic difference in with the HCB 53’ Suenos new summer kitchen than that of the bait station. Traditionally, the bait stations are monochromatic and constructed of hard plastics, with perhaps trimming or marble tops. Yet, the summer kitchens from HCB are not standard or traditional. Surfaces are accented in chrome finishing, the countertops have wood (treated to minimize water damage, cuts, and scratches), and there is nothing hard or plastic about it.
The summer station merges into the layout of the Yacht, instead of standing as its own entity. And while you still have the capabilities of the fishing boat, the overall aesthetics cater to the socialization and the family cruising. Considering that the transom has upgraded seating, that you could integrate table seating to create an open dining area, and that the materials and accenting is consistent throughout the vessel, the overall luxury and elegant presumptions of the yachting experience are accomplished.
