Regulator boats claim to be the option for those that love offshore water activities, specifically those who love to fish. Regulator boats were established in 1988 with the focus of creating a better deep-vee Center Console. This boat was created and the Legendary Ride is one of the most popular of the Regulator boats for sale.
High speeds and a controllable ride
According to Lou Codega, the Naval Architect of the Legendary Rides, anyone can make boats which reach high speeds. The differentiating factor of the Regulator boats for sale is that engineering and technology have been implemented so that the boat can not only reach 60MPH or higher but that the boat can also remain controllable, predictable, and stable. This makes for not only a safer ride but a smoother ride.
Offshore design
Regulator boats are built with the unpredictability of the offshore waters in mind. For the most part, the deck rests lower than that of other boats designated for inshore and offshore angler activities. The Beam of the boats offered by Regulator is 8’6” on the 23’ which is average for a boat of this size. It should be noted that these are not large boats. The offshore regulators are 23’ to 41’. As expected, the deeper water should have the larger boat as the fuel capacity, beam, Deadrise, and Draft is more suitable for such waters. Still, even with the Regulator 23 boat, the overall features are suitable for offshore fishing.
Boat Models
There are 7 models which are offered by Regulator. In the fleet, you have the Regulator 23, Regulator 25, Regulator 28, Regulator 31, Regulator 34, Regulator 34SS, and the Regulator 41. Only the Regulator 23 model is equipped with a singular engine. All of the other Regulator boats for sale are equipped with at least two Yamaha engines. The Regulator 41 is equipped with 4 engines.
While the Regulator boats are technically classified as a Center Console, many of the features of the boat are similar to a walk around, especially when you look at the space on the port and the starboard side of the console. On the bow and the stern, there seems to be equal spacing. Generally, with a CC angler boat, the navigation station is set back to the stern, this is not the case with the Regulator boats.
Unlike other center console boats, the transom of most of the models does not have the bar seating. Seating is restricted to the front of the boats, the captain’s chair, and to the rear facing seating coming off of the captain’s chair. There are optional features which may add seats to the transom, but for the most part, it is not a common/standard for the Regulator boats for sale.
Price Bracket
Regulator boats for sale range from around 25k for the 21’ Center Console boat to around 650K for the Regulator 41’. The range of the price is so diversified that the selections are suitable for most budgets. Keep in mind that the more features a boat has the higher the price. Additionally, note that more than the price bracket should go into choosing your boat. Find a model which meets your personality, your intended use, as well as your skill level.
Who should purchase a Regulator boat for sale?
Regulator boats are oriented to those who wish to engage in offshore salt water fishing. The boats are small enough that they can be used in salt water, especially the 21 which has a singular motor. As the boats have a hardtop and as the features do allow for forward facing seating and cushioning for family leisure, the boats can be used for cruising and water sports. Yet, the premise and focus of the brand is for the deep waters of the Gulf or Atlantic.
