About Sea Hunt RZR Series Boats

The Stepped Hull Bay Boat

In the past few years, the reputation for the Sea Hunt boat brand has grown exponentially. This is not to state that the brand has not done well over the years, but rather that the developments in the Sea Hunt association with quality boats for a reasonable price have become more understood. Yes, there are those which are driven by the higher logos on their boats, but for those which wish to have the features of the elite but a lower price tag, have chosen Sea Hunt RZR Series boats for sale. And like many of the brands on the market, Sea Hunt has followed trends. Such is the case with the Sea Hunt RZR series. In the Sea Hunt RZR series boats, Sea Hunt introduced their first ever stepped hull bay boat. It is why this is one of the unique boats for sale from Sea Hunt.

The Stepped Hull Design

It is important to know what a step accomplishes in a hull design to understand the Sea Hunt RZR series boats. Steps on the hull create an air pocket under the boat and reduce the drag of the vessel by lifting the craft out of the water. This does play upon the stability of the boat, but RZR series vessels combated the risks of loss of stability and shake by making the console more to the stern of the boat. Additionally, the weight of the motor and other engineering which helped to distribute the weight, 3000 lbs Dry on the Sea Hunt RZR and 2700 pounds on the Sea Hunt RZR 22, increase speeds and functions up to 15% compared to similar boats while maintaining control and stability.

By keeping the draft to 13” and by keeping the hull out of the water, the Sea Hunt RZR series boats for sale are capable of navigating rather shallow water. Combine this with the low weight and the Vee design of the hull, and you have a boat which can be used in most freshwater areas as well as for inshore angling purposes.

Console Configuration

The Sea Hunt RZR boat is a center console bay boat. Like most of the angler boats offered by Sea Hunt, the system is a single touch screen navigation with the helm located on the left side of the Console. Amenities and special features are on the right side of the console, and there is room for additional navigation and electronics systems to be incorporated into the design.

Captain’s seating is on a bench. However, the seating adds a bit of individuality as there are definitive spaces between the two spaces allotted. On the back of the sea is a live well.

A boat for the Angler

Because the Sea Hunt RZR series boats are no more than 25’, Sea Hunt focused their attentions on providing extensive storage on the transom, and a large casting deck on the bow of the boat. This is not a boat for the family outing and for leisure. It is a Bay Boat which means that its ideal use is for 2-4 person max. Looking at the layout you will see that there are rod holders, bait boxes, tackle boxes, livewells, and rocket rod holders throughout.

Power

Typical on Sea Hunt RZR series boats for sale will be a Yamaha 250HP engine. As the boat is stepped, it is not advised to put too much power behind the boat as this could dramatically influence the control and stability of the ride. You do not want to barrel or spin out when navigating the boat. 300HP engines on the RZR may be acceptable, but more than that would be running a huge safety risk.
