Wellcraft has been founded as early as 1955. The company first started by designing wooden runabouts aimed towards family fisherman and fishing enthusiasts. Expanding their business forward, Wellcraft made the decision to purchase California Yachts in 1982, but sold it back to the Marshall Boat Company in 1987. While making questionable business decision, Wellcraft started shaping up to be one of the most sought after brands among family fisherman and boating enthusiasts. Implementing new design options and hiring multiple long time fisherman to help them with the design of their new boats, Wellcraft truly set its place in the entry level boating market. An interesting fact about the company is that Wellcraft goes beyond selling boats in their journey to attract more people to fishing.
