Best Center Console Boats Over 40 Feet
The best yacht sized center consoles
Vessels which are over the 40’ mark are generally considered to be in the yacht class. However, length does not a yacht make. There are several vessels which are above the40’ mark which have the iconic look of the angler and tower center console. If you are looking for a large center console boat, but wish to stick with the look and feel of the classic CC, here are the best on the market.
SeaHunter 45
The SeaHunter 45 is one of the largest CCs offered by the brand. However, just because it is large does not mean that it is low. Powered with four outboard 350HP engines the SeaHunter 45 can reach speeds up to 60mph. Combined with the power of the engines, the 60-degree entry, state of the art navigation controls, and the wide beam present the owner with a smooth and steady ride.
With regards to the angler features of this center console, they are abundant. Rod holders around the whole center console as well as in the typical 360 configurations make it highly improbable that a person will ever run out of space for their rods. Add to this the rocket rod holder on the hardtop and you really start to see that this is a fisherman’s/woman’s center console.
Intrepid 475 Pancea
Intrepids 475 Pancea set out to be a boat which encompassed all a boater’s needs. This means that it is not an angler vessel, nor is it a cruiser or a sports vessel, but a pairing of these three things. As such, there is a level of sophistication and luxury to the design. Firstly, you have the plush materials known in yachts, you also have the luxury materials on the decking which lend to the cruising side. Yet, the center console is definitively oriented to the fishing as are the rod holders and the underdeck storage.
Sporting, or more so the power of the intrepid is at the forefront of the Intrepid 475 Pancea. With a few outboard configurations, including the Seven Marine motors, your Center console can see an amazing 627 or 557hp.
HydraSports HCB 42 Siesta
Although the company will be releasing the HCB 65 Estrella this year, the Siesta is currently the best-known model from Hydrasport. Packed with both leisure as well as fishing features, Hydrasports boats have become iconic to the marine industry, especially when it comes to the outboard adventurer.
The HydraSport 42 Siesta features the trademarked dive door, has the large leisure lounge on the bow of the vessel, has live wells on the transom, as well as higher quality materials that have become the trademark of the company. One of the key features of the HydraSport HCB 42 Siesta is the ability to customize the color, including motor trimming and hardtops with vibrant colors.
HydraSport Center consoles are designed for offshore socializing and leisure more than that of the tournament and avid fisherman’s boat. Packaging and features are more prone to change the aesthetics toward the “yacht” feel then to the angler.
Jupiter 43
Where the HydraSport HCB is clearly for the socializing and cruising based audience, the Jupiter 43 is geared to the fisherman. The Jupiter 43, according to the site, has over 19 features which are specifically designed for the fishing boat. And while this is impressive, the Jupiter 43 has gone further to provide some unique features including a 360 Degree Coaming pad, Pull up Bow Cleats, Molded non-skid horizontal surfaces, fiberglass T-top built into the aft support frame, in floor bow storage locker of 680 quarts, and insulated 420 quart port and starboard fish boxes.
The console on the Jupiter 43 CC features single captain’s chairs (2). On the back of these chairs, facing the stern and the four outboard engines is a bar seating. Fold down seating on the transom is also a feature. In addition to the main Center console, a multiple tiered tower with a fishing bridge is available.
Scout 42
The Scout 42, or rather the 420 LXF, is a luxury center console boat. It is modeled to the top standards of the marine industry and has a very distinctive “yacht” look. This is partially accomplished with the wrap around dash as well as the step up to the console (as opposed the other boats which have a very flat layout).
The hull and interior design of the Scout 42 Center Console has a Deep Vee design that appears to taper back to the transom where you will find a quad configuration of Yamaha engines. Interior seating on the 420 LXF brings the cruising and the leisure to life on this vessel with bow seating, forward facing seating from the console, rear facing seats, and a secondary bench seat to the main CC.
